🚨 48-Hour Reporting Requirement

Absences must be called in by parents within 48 hours of the absence. The responsibility for attendance lies with the parent and the student.

School attendance is mandated by Colorado law, and the only absences that are excused are those according to Colorado State law and district policy (illness, family emergency, medical appointments, etc.).

Communication & Monitoring

• Parents/Guardians will be notified for all absences by automated telephone system
• Students should use Infinite Campus to monitor their attendance
• Parents can use the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in real time
• Students must communicate with teachers to acquire missing work
• When students are absent, they miss learning that cannot be made up

Important Note

A note may be requested by the Attendance Clerk or administration in the event of temporary illness or injury, or an extended physical, mental, or emotional disability.

🚫 Disruptive Behavior: Refusal to Give Cell Phone/Electronic Device

In cases of student refusal to turn in their device, progressive discipline will be used based on investigation.

Additional Provisions

• Failure to comply with staff requests will result in immediate additional disciplinary action
• May include detention, suspension, or other measures as deemed appropriate
• The school is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen devices
• Students bring personal electronic devices to school at their own risk

How to Report Bullying

• Tell any teacher, counselor, or member of school administration
• Submit the Bullying Report Form
• Report through Safe2Tell (information on back of LHS Student ID card)
• Anonymous reports accepted from students and parents/guardians

⚖️ Consequences

Any person found to have engaged in bullying, retaliation, or reporting bullying in bad faith will be subject to disciplinary action according to Board policy JICDE.

🚫 Zero Tolerance Policy

No one may use, possess, or be under the influence of alcoholic beverages, drugs, or tobacco products during school hours or at school-sponsored events.

Tobacco-Free Environment

Loveland High School is a Tobacco-Free Environment. Any use of tobacco products, including vape pens or electronic cigarettes, on campus or in student vehicles will result in disciplinary action.

Consequences

• Violation may result in suspension or expulsion from school
• Students will be ineligible for extracurricular activities
• Progressive discipline based on severity and circumstances
• Possible involvement of law enforcement for illegal substances

🚲 Transportation & Campus Movement

Bicycles, Scooters & Skateboards

• Must be picked up and carried when students are on campus
• Students shall walk their bicycles on sidewalks near the building
• Bicycles must be parked and locked on bike racks
• Students responsible for securing their own transportation devices
• LHS is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items
• School buses do not transport skateboards or scooters

🔒 Lockers

Students may request a locker using the 2025-2026 Locker Request Form. Lockers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

• All lockers are district-owned property
• Students should not share lockers unless assigned
• Students charged for damage or graffiti not removed
• Not secure storage for expensive items
• Locker numbers and combinations added to Infinite Campus

📷 Student ID Cards & Pictures

Every LHS student must have a picture taken at Student Check-in Day in August.

• Used for student ID cards, yearbook, and permanent records
• Required for building entry and checking out materials
• Can convert to Activity card for $40 sticker
• Lost or damaged cards replaced for $5
• Must wear current school ID on LHS breakaway lanyard
• Contact Mrs. Jenny Allen for replacement lanyard

🎫 Parking Permit Required

All student vehicles must be registered in our database each year and display a current parking permit sticker on the front windshield.

Parking Requirements

• Complete LHS 20254-2026 Student Parking Permit Request
• Show valid registration, insurance, and driver's license
• Parking permits obtained from Campus Security free of charge
• Must be renewed each year
• Only one parking permit per student
• All fines must be paid prior to being issued a permit

Traffic Expectations

• Student vehicles must remain parked during class time
• No loitering in parked cars or parking lots during school day
• Parking permit number must be visible and readable
• Notify Campus Security of lost permits or vehicle changes
• Falsification on applications results in revoked privileges
• Return permits if no longer enrolled at LHS

🔍 Vehicle Search Policy

Bringing a vehicle onto school premises is conditioned on consent to allow vehicle search when there is reasonable suspicion. Refusal to allow search access will result in termination of parking privileges.

📜 LHS Honor Code

Loveland High School is a learning community in which all members are held to high standards of academic honesty. Honesty and integrity are fundamental to learning, establishing trust and personal development.

🚨 Serious Violations

Students engaging in the following activities are subject to discipline, including in-school suspension or out-of-school suspension (up to 10 days):

• Behavior off school property detrimental to health or welfare of students/staff
• Causing or attempting to cause damage to school property
• Stealing or attempting to steal school property
• Causing physical injury to another person except in self-defense
• Violating criminal law
• Throwing objects that can cause bodily injury or damage property
• Directing profanity, vulgar language or obscene gestures toward others
• Committing extortion, coercion or blackmail
• Lying or giving false information to school employees
• Engaging in scholastic dishonesty including cheating or plagiarism
• Violating district or building rules
• Gang involvement or gang-like activity
• Violating dangerous weapons policy (mandatory expulsion)
• Engaging in rioting, property seizures, or disruptive behavior

📝 Student Expression Guidelines

Students shall not turn in, present, publish or distribute expression that is disruptive to the classroom environment or maintenance of a safe and orderly school.

🎯 Extracurricular Activities

Students involved in extracurricular activities and school-sponsored events must meet the CHSAA eligibility & training requirements. Students may not be permitted to participate if grades, attendance, and conduct do not meet these standards.
