🎵 Choir Ensembles

Treble Choir consists of treble range voices. This is a non-audition group, and is open to all students. These students perform choral literature in varied styles through various eras of music history.

What You'll Learn:
  • Proper diction and vocal production
  • Breathing techniques and posture
  • Rhythmic accuracy and intonation
  • Performance skills and stage presence

Tenor/Bass Choir singers perform literature written specifically for tenor/bass voices, performing literature from all style periods and from all styles. This is a non-audition group, and is open to all students.

What You'll Learn:
  • Vocal technique for tenor and bass voices
  • Music literacy and sight-reading
  • Ensemble singing and harmony
  • Performance confidence

Bella Voce (Advanced Treble Choir) expectations are at the highest level of commitment and dedication. This choir is comprised of some of the highest level treble singers at LHS.

Repertoire & Performance:
  • Music from Medieval through 20th century periods
  • Performances at vocal competitions and conferences
  • Advanced music literacy and vocal production
  • Study of women's choir history

Audition required

Chamber Singers is an elite ensemble for 10th-12th graders, consisting of 20 to 26 of Loveland High's best vocalists. Through their high-level performance, this choir produces music from varying genres of music, giving a historically tighter and more complex sound of that of a chamber group.

Performance Opportunities:
  • Multiple choral competitions and festivals
  • Renaissance to Contemporary 21st Century literature
  • Highest artistic level of music reading
  • Advanced vocal techniques and musicianship

Audition required | Grades 10-12

Jazz Choir is an auditioned ensemble for 10th-12th graders as an addition to their core ensembles. This group consists of 12-16 members, and performs standards through the history of jazz, all the way up to contemporary vocal jazz charts.

Performance Highlights:
  • UNC Vocal Jazz Festival performances
  • Community performances throughout the year
  • Jazz improvisation and scatting techniques
  • Historical and contemporary jazz repertoire

Audition required | Grades 10-12 | Addition to core ensemble

Each fall, Loveland High School produces a Fall Play! Auditions are typically the end of August, with rehearsals running the length of September and October, and performances taking place the final weekend in October!

The Loveland High School Thespian Troupe is the drama club, meeting every first and third Wednesday at lunch!

Activities Include:
  • Attend local productions and performances
  • Participate in acting and bonding exercises
  • Attend the annual Colorado State Thespian Conference in Denver
  • Build community with fellow theatre enthusiasts
  • Leadership opportunities within the troupe

Meeting Schedule: Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at lunch

The LHS Performing Arts Boosters is a parent-teacher organization that provides support for our choir and theatre programs above what is supplied by the school district.
