Art/Fine and Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Department at Loveland High School is home to a dedicated team of visual arts educators who create an inspiring environment where students discover and develop their artistic voice through hands-on creative exploration. Our comprehensive program offers students a rich variety of artistic pathways, including Drawing & Painting, Ceramics & Sculpture, Photography, Studio Art, and Digital Design.

Our experienced art educators, who maintain active artistic practices themselves, guide students through a journey of creative discovery while developing technical skills across various mediums. Throughout the year, our talented young artists have opportunities to showcase their work and compete in regional, state, and national exhibitions and competitions.

Loveland High's robust fine arts curriculum fosters both technical mastery and artistic appreciation, integrating art history and critical analysis to develop well-rounded visual artists. Students build impressive portfolios that showcase their artistic growth and personal vision - portfolios that have helped many of our graduates earn art scholarships and admission to prestigious art schools and universities.

Beyond meeting Colorado graduation requirements, our visual arts program develops creative problem-solvers and innovative thinkers. We encourage students to explore multiple art courses throughout their high school journey to enhance their creative capabilities and artistic understanding. Our graduates leave with not just technical skills, but with confidence in their creative voice and a deep appreciation for the visual arts.

Through hands-on experience in our well-equipped studios, thoughtful mentorship, and opportunities for public exhibition, Loveland High School's Visual Arts Department prepares students for success in both collegiate artistic pursuits and creative careers.
